Who we are
Te Haunui Art is operated by Te Haunui from Tauranga, Aotearoa New Zealand. This website is at tehaunui.ursa.nz.
Data sovereignty
This website is a bespoke, open source application built by ursa.nz. It was built this way deliberately.
Te Haunui retains full ownership and control of all content, artwork, and data on this site. Nothing is hosted on or governed by platforms that profit from collecting, profiling, or reselling your information. Your data is not fed into advertising networks, recommendation engines, or mass-data collection systems.
This is indigenous to indigenous mahi. The technology choices here reflect the same values as the art: self-determination, integrity, and care for the people who engage with the work.
What we collect
We collect only what you give us directly:
- Name, email, and phone number when you submit a booking or enquiry
- Name, email, shipping address, and payment details when you make a purchase (payment is processed by Stripe)
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or profiling tools. We do not build profiles about you or share your information with advertisers.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry or booking request
- To process and ship your order
- To send you order status updates by email
We will not send you marketing emails unless you ask us to.
Payment
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card details. We retain only the card brand and last four digits for order reference.
Data storage
Your data is stored on a server in Australia. Enquiry and order data is kept for as long as needed to fulfil your request and meet our legal obligations under New Zealand law.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of any inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information (where we are not legally required to keep it)

Cookies
This site uses only essential cookies for basic functionality (theme preference, cart contents). We do not use tracking cookies.
Third parties
The only third-party service that receives your data is Stripe for payment processing. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking or advertising service.

We may update this page from time to time. Material changes will be noted with the date at the top.
